The sun is shining, which means the sandals are coming out and it’s pedicure season for us ladies!
Vancouver certainly has a LOT of spas, but the below shortlist are my standbys that I return to regularly.
Bloom Essentials – Kitsilano, #3 – 1854 W. 1st Ave (@ Burrard)
Best for: Pedicures with your girlfriends; a solo pedicure. The bloom gals are FAMOUS for their pedicures, so book in advance if you want a weekend appointment. I’d rank Bloom as the best pedicure in the city in terms of service, quality, and value. My best pedicure here was with two girlfriends right before my wedding. We brought in lunch, drank some wine, and relaxed together in the same room. Bloom also offers nail art – they can paint flowers or other images on your big toes as an accent.
Beverly’s Spa on 4th – Kitsilano, 2185 West 4th Avenue (@ Yew)
Best for: Pedicures with your girlfriends; a solo pedicure. The bonus here? Massage chairs! You sit in a big vibrating massage chair and relax while the staff does work on your toes. I’ll often bring a magazine and read while sitting in the massage chair.
Breathe Spa – Downtown, 464 Granville St (b/w Pender and Hastings)
Best for: A solo pedicure. You have your treatment on a comfy bed in an private room while the staff treat your feet with care. Breathe carries Zoya Nail Polish (non toxic) and lots of lovely colours. I am currently sporting a Breathe pedicure, wearing the colour “Beyonce” – yes, really.
Le Petit Spa – Kitsilano/Dunbar, 4-3701 W. Broadway (@ Alma)
Best for: Pedicures with your girlfriends; a solo pedicure. Le Petit Spa offers a nice, comfy “lazy boy” style chairs and experienced staff that treat your feet with care. The pedicure room can manage up to five pedicures and three manicures at a time. On arrival, you’re offered herbal tea, water, chocolates, and cookies. It’s nice to be treated so well.
